It was a good run, but the Turlock Bulldogs unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell to Pitman 39-35. Turlock was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Pitman apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Despite the loss, Turlock still got an impressive performance from Chloe Wong, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and nine rebounds. It was the first time this season that Wong pulled down eight or more rebounds. Olivia Walker was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Pitman's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dailynn Greener, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Greener is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tusi Elisaia, who scored four points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Turlock's loss dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Pitman, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Turlock will head out on the road to square off against Downey at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Turlock focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Thursday. As for Pitman, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Enochs at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. Hopefully Pitman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Thursday.
