Basketball Game Preview: United Christian Academy Eagles vs. Ramona Rams

United Christian Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They breezed by California Lutheran to the tune of 80-7 on Thursday. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 49-2.

United Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Jordin Edwards, who dropped a double-double on 29 points and 15 steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Edwards has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Estrada, who almost dropped a double-double on 22 points and nine steals.

United Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Ramona's strategy against Norte Vista on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Ramona blew Norte Vista out of the water with a 72-19 final score. That looming 72-19 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rams yet this season.

United Christian Academy pushed their record up to 12-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.7 points per game. As for Ramona, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-3.

United Christian Academy came up short against Ramona when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 49-37. Can United Christian Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
