Vacaville Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over Foresthill.
Evan Varty was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Zachary Romeo, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Valley Christian never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Delta on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Saints with a sharp 19-0 victory. Considering the Lions have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Jack Grexton was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with six RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Domminic Eyster was a standout: he went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Loudon Carter was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and three RBI.
Vacaville Christian is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.1 runs over those games. As for Valley Christian, their record is now 13-4.
Vacaville Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Valley Christian in their previous matchup back in May of 2018, sneaking past 4-2. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lions turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
