The Classical Academy Caimans will head out to take on the Canyon Crest Academy Ravens at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Classical Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.7 runs per game this season.
Classical Academy came out on top against Francis Parker on Saturday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Caimans took their contest against the Lancers 10-5. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Caimans as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Quaid O'Carroll looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Classical Academy let Trevor Hoff and Miguel Monteon run wild. Hoff went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Monteon went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Hoff has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Benny Nance, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one double.
Classical Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Canyon Crest Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 15th straight loss dating back to last season. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-2 to Olympian, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Canyon Crest Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Pargal, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Classical Academy's record is now 8-6. As for Canyon Crest Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
Classical Academy got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Canyon Crest Academy by a conclusive 12-3 score. Will the Caimans repeat their success, or do the Ravens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
