The Montgomery Red Raiders were the 47-43 winner over the Millville Quakers when they last played one another last Monday, but their luck changed this time around. Montgomery took a 45-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Millville on Saturday. Montgomery has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
It was another big night for Larissa Evans, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals for Millville. That makes it 14 consecutive games in which Evans has scored at least a third of Millville's points. Abby Kakaley was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six steals and three blocks.
Montgomery bumped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Millville, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Montgomery will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Sullivan County at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Sullivan County is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak. As for Millville, they will head out on the road to challenge South Williamsport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully South Williamsport focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 last Wednesday.
