Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Springs). Everything went their way against the Lithonia Bulldogs on Wednesday as they made off with a 20-0 victory. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.
Jordan Masker made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, North Springs got a massive performance out of Kara Hutton, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one triple. That triple was Hutton's first of the season. Leila Madesko was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
North Springs hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lithonia struck out seven times.
North Springs' record is now 9-13. As for Lithonia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.
North Springs will challenge Blessed Trinity at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lithonia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
