Woodland Christian is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Colfax 12-2. Considering the Cardinals have won 21 contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Jayden Badhesha was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jordan Villanueva, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Howald, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Woodland Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in nine consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Bear River narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Amador 7-5.
Like Woodland Christian, Bear River also got a great game from a two-way player: Kaden Nicholls. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Nicholls was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Cooper Lunsford was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Nolan Allen, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Bear River is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Woodland Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 25-6.
