Burney had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 56-29 win over the CORE Butte Lynx. The Raiders have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Burney was led to victory by Alexis Witzel and Aaliyah Perez. Witzel dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards, while Perez posted 18 points. Perez has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 14 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabella Prindiville, who had eight points and five steals.

Burney smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Despite the loss, CORE Butte had strong showings from Lali Gonzalez, who scored nine points, and Bella Hazelton, who earned eight points. The dominant performance gave Hazelton a new career-high in points.

Burney pushed their record up to 20-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for CORE Butte, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-13.

Burney has already played their next game, a 50-39 win against Redding Christian on the 20th. CORE Butte does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
