The Los Molinos Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Quincy Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 16 to 2 on the offensive boards, a fact Los Molinos proved on Friday. They snuck past Maxwell with a 36-32 win. The victory was just what Los Molinos needed coming off of a 49-24 defeat in their prior match.
Mckenna Michelle and Natalie Martinez were among the main playmakers for Los Molinos as the former dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds and the latter scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Michelle has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Quincy waltzed into their contest on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They walked away with a 46-34 win over Portola. The score was all tied up 24-24 at the break, but Quincy was the (much) better team in the second half.
Quincy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tatum Hughes led the charge by scoring 11 points. Hana Hostetter was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Los Molinos' record now sits at 7-18. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.
Los Molinos might still be hurting after the 48-23 defeat they got from Quincy in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Hughes, who scored 22 points. Now that Los Molinos knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time?
