Brooklyn Akason was the offensive standout of the matchup as she scored 19 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kayla Rice, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Capistrano Valley has been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Dana Hills, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Capistrano Valley will face off against Mission Viejo at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dana Hills, they will head out on the road to face off against Santa Margarita at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. The timing isn't great for Santa Margarita: they have been struggling with three straight losses at home, while Dana Hills has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
