Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for East Nicolaus

East Nicolaus had won three straight games and Makinze Massey did her part to make it four on Friday. The East Nicolaus Spartans strolled past the Willows Honkers with points to spare, taking the game 53-39 thanks in part to Massey, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 18 boards. Those 28 points gave her a new career-high.

Rylee Gillespie was another key player, putting up five points. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why Willows lost, don't look at Karla DiMaggio. Despite the final result, she posted 21 points. That was a full 53.8% of Willows' points, marking the third time in a row she's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kali Galbraith, who put up six points and five rebounds.

East Nicolaus' victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Willows, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.
