The Jeannette Jayhawks lost against the Riverview Raiders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Jeannette took a 36-26 hit to the loss column at the hands of Riverview. Jeannette has not had much luck with Riverview recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite the loss, Jeannette saw an underclassman step up: Navarah Smith scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Adriana Allison was another key contributor, scoring five points.
Jeannette's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Riverview, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jeannette will face off against Hillel Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hillel Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 16 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Riverview, they will head out on the road to face off against Penn Hills at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
