The Brawley Wildcats lost against the Vincent Memorial Scots last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Brawley took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Scots. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brawley in their matchups with the Scots: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the loss, Brawley still got an impressive performance from Breanna Montano, who scored 26 points. That was a full 48.1% of Brawley's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Salceda, who scored 14 points.
Vincent Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Paola Longoria, who scored 20 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Longoria is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 17 or more in the last ten games she's played. Daniella Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Vincent Memorial, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-5.
Brawley will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest EC is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. As for Vincent Memorial, they will head out on the road to square off against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Calipatria is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
