The Carlisle Thundering Herd's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 45-28 to Central Dauphin. While losing is never fun, Carlisle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 374th, while the Rams are ranked 43rd).
Central Dauphin was led to victory by Olivia Green and Alexis Ferguson. Green scored 12 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Ferguson dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Green hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Kayla Fletcher, who scored six points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Carlisle has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Central Dauphin, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will challenge the Bubblers at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Boiling Springs is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home. As for Central Dauphin, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Black Knights at 1:30 p.m. on February 3rd.
