Northeastern has won three straight games at home, while Hertford County has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Eagles will host the Bears at 7:00 p.m. Northeastern will be strutting in after a win while Hertford County will be coming in after a loss.
Northeastern will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against First Flight on Friday. The Eagles blew past the Nighthawks 47-6. Considering the Eagles have won four matchups by more than 31 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Zak Ishman continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 203 yards and four touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Northeastern is undefeated when Ishman posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 1-2 otherwise. The Eagles' leading receiver Uzziah Harney was Ishman's top target yet again, picking up 35 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 42 yards and one TD.

Northeastern's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB ten times. The heavy lifting was done by Mekkhei Williams and Jermaine Dashiell, who racked up four sacks between them. Dashiell has been hot for a while, having also posted five or more total tackles the last 14 times he's played.
Special teams was a major factor in the game for Northeastern, racking up 11 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Harney, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Hertford County played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Currituck County, falling 37-14. Bears fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Knights since Friday.
Hertford County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Northeastern, their victory bumped their record up to 5-2.
Everything came up roses for Northeastern against Hertford County when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the team secured a 57-13 win. In that game, the Eagles amassed a halftime lead of 36-13, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
