The Oasis Academy Bighorns struggled with three-point shooting accuracy on Wednesday (the North Tahoe Lakers were 46% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Oasis Academy fell 47-37 to North Tahoe. Oasis Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Matthew Bird and Adams Hunter certainly did their best on Wednesday to avoid the loss. Bird scored ten points along with seven rebounds, while Hunter scored six points along with seven rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden White, who scored seven points.
Gavin Green continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Tahoe, scoring 12 points. Another player making a difference was Anders Koijan, who scored eight points.
Oasis Academy has not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season. As for North Tahoe, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-11.
Oasis Academy will head out on the road to face off against Sierra Lutheran at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nevada (Sierra Lutheran is ranked 102nd, while Oasis Academy is ranked 94th). As for North Tahoe, they will head out on the road to take on West Wendover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. West Wendover is coming into the match with ten straight victories at home, so North Tahoe is out to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
