Steele Canyon and Madison are an even 4-4-2 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. Steele Canyon will face off against Madison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Steele Canyon has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Steele Canyon saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They fell just short of Christian by a score of 6-4.
Steele Canyon got a good showing from Dylan Knopov, who tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Knopov has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

While Madison didn't have the best season last year (they finished 12-18-1), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Santana an 8-0 shutout on Monday. Considering the Warhawks have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Jeremiah Jennings, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Santana off the board. That's the fewest hits Jennings has allowed since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Leo Wilderman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Jackson, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.
The victory (which was Madison's fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.5 runs on average over those games. As for Steele Canyon, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Steele Canyon has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Madison struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Steele Canyon suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Madison in their previous meeting on March 5th. Can Steele Canyon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
