Basketball Recap: Northview Extends Winning Streak to Five

Northview extended their winning streak to five games thanks to a huge performance from Shaniya (Niya) Moreland. The Northview Vikings snuck past the Wilson Wildcats with a 42-36 victory on Monday thanks in part to Moreland, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 18 rebounds. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 9.4 boards per game.

Another player making a difference was Jayleen (Jay) Sifuentes, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds. She is becoming a predictor of Northview's success: when she posts at least eight boards the team is 4-2 (and 10-11 when she doesn't).

Northview has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. As for Wilson, they dropped their record down to 7-19 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road.

Northview has already played their next contest, a 43-32 loss against Rowland on the 5th. As for Wilson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-44 defeat against Covina on the 5th.
