The Denbigh Patriots will head out to take on the Norview Pilots at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Denbigh is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with 12 losses in a row, Denbigh turned things around against Woodside on Friday. They blew past the Wolverines 17-8. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Patriots considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Jah'Son Smith made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Denbigh is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-13 otherwise. Smith was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Liam Blazek was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Luis Caez Rodriguez, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with three runs.
Denbigh always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Woodside only posted an OBP of .353.
Norview couldn't beat Churchland on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Pilots lost 18-8 to the Truckers. The Pilots have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jay Leigh was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Will Sipe, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Denbigh's record now sits at 7-14. As for Norview, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.
Norview's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Denbigh hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. It's a different story for Norview, though, as they've only averaged .233. Will they be able to contain Denbigh's hitters?
