The Bedford Bisons will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Chestnut Ridge Lions at 7:15 p.m. Bedford has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
On Monday, Bedford came up short against the Huskies and fell 63-51. Bedford has struggled against the Huskies recently, as their game on Monday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Bedford had strong showings from Katie Mcdevitt, who scored 18 points, and Rebekah Costal, who scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kasey Shuke, who scored six points.
Meanwhile, Chestnut Ridge was fully in charge on Friday, breezing past the Bald Eagles 54-21 at home.
Ashlie Weaver was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Tabitha Hyde was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Bedford's defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Chestnut Ridge, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
Bedford came up short against the Lions in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, falling 39-28. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Weaver, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. Now that Bedford knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
