Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rio Hondo Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Emma Carson, who scored 11 points along with six steals and five assists. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Van Cleve, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Western Christian had to suffer through a rough 62-28 loss at the hands of California Lutheran. Rio Hondo Prep's win bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Western Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Rio Hondo Prep against Western Christian in their previous matchup back in December of 2021 as the team secured a 58-14 victory. Will Rio Hondo Prep repeat their success, or does Western Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
