San Domenico had lost eight games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-10 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Marin Academy Wildcats as they made off with a 14-2 win. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Oliver Bennett made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Bennett was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of San Domenico's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 3-10 when he doesn't).
In other batting news, Oliver Swain was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2024. Kevin Hu also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
San Domenico always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marin Academy only posted an OBP of .429.
