Lakeside entered their tilt with Arabia Mountain on Saturday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Arabia Mountain Rams 14-1. While the Vikings didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-21), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Lakeside got a great performance from Luke Barron as he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Barron has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Warren Gage was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Matthew Russell was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Lakeside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

Lakeside's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Arabia Mountain, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside will head out to take on Chamblee at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Lakeside's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Chamblee's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Arabia Mountain, they will head out on the road to challenge Shiloh at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Arabia Mountain is facing Shiloh at the right time seeing as Shiloh is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
