The Royal Highlanders will venture away from home to face off against the Camarillo Scorpions at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Royal is coming into the game hot, having won their last eight games.
On Monday, Royal made easy work of Oak Park and carried off a 14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Highlanders, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Brady Hewitt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other pitching news, Dean Barkman looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Zachary Nagy, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Camarillo came up short against Simi Valley last Friday and fell 6-1. The Scorpions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Camarillo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Blaise Meylemans, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Corsten Victoria also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Royal's record now sits at 8-1. As for Camarillo, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.
Camarillo's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Royal has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .495. It's a different story for Camarillo, though, as they've only averaged .257. Will they be able to contain Royal's hitters?
Royal couldn't quite get it done against Camarillo in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can Royal avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
