The Etna Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Weed on the road and fell 64-31. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Etna in their matchups with Weed: they've now lost seven in a row.
Alayja Oliver continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Weed, scoring 25 points along with six steals. Oliver hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. Brooklynn Bivens was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with two steals.
Etna has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Weed, their win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 22-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Etna will challenge Trinity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Weed, they will head out on the road to square off against Mt. Shasta at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Weed is facing Mt. Shasta at the right time seeing as Mt. Shasta is stuck on a 18-game losing streak.
