They breezed by California Academy of Math & Science at home to the tune of 56-14. That 56-14 margin sets a new team best for Saint Joseph this season.
Saint Joseph's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Olivia Martinez led the charge by scoring seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Martinez is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Olivia Molina, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Saint Joseph is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which somehow isn't as good as their 7-1-1 record this season. As for California Academy of Math & Science, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Saint Joseph will face off against Cabrillo at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for California Academy of Math & Science, they will head out on the road to face off against Notre Dame Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
