Wilcox-Hildreth and Shelton are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The Wilcox-Hildreth Falcons are on the road again on Tuesday and plays the Shelton Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Wilcox-Hildreth: 28, Shelton: 29.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
Wilcox-Hildreth struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (Overton had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Wilcox-Hildreth received a tough blow as they fell 43-29 to Overton. Wilcox-Hildreth has not had much luck with Overton recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Wilcox-Hildreth had strong showings from Cara Bunger, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals, and Madison Bunger, who scored six points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Bunger has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played.
Meanwhile, Shelton entered their tilt with Harvard with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Shelton took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 71-24 victory over Harvard. Shelton's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Wilcox-Hildreth's defeat ended a seven-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. As for Shelton, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
Wilcox-Hildreth didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Shelton in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 40-36 victory.
