Philadelphia High School for Girls was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as George Washington apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead George Washington to victory, but perhaps none more so than Celyne Vah, who scored 13 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Vah has scored at least a third of George Washington's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Raphaelle-Anne Compere, who scored ten points.
Philadelphia High School for Girls now has a losing record at 4-5. As for George Washington, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Philadelphia High School for Girls will take on Franklin Towne at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for George Washington, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Philadelphia Academy Charter at 3:15 p.m. Philadelphia Academy Charter presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than George Washington in Pennsylvania (Philadelphia Academy Charter is ranked 194th, while George Washington is ranked 584th).
