Make it 16 blowout wins for the Dana Hills Dolphins this season. They claimed a resounding 72-26 victory over Mission Viejo on the road. Given Dana Hills' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 138th, while the Diablos are ranked 926th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Kayla Rice, who almost dropped a double-double on 25 points and nine rebounds. Brooklyn Akason was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Despite the loss, Mission Viejo still got an impressive performance from Angelique Wright, who scored six points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Faith Harper, who scored four points.
Dana Hills is on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 23-4 record this season. As for Mission Viejo, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season.
