New Fairfield is 9-1 against the Falcons since January of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The New Fairfield Rebels will head out on the road to square off against the Joel Barlow Falcons at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for New Fairfield and six for the Falcons.
On Wednesday, New Fairfield came up short against the Blue Dragons and fell 54-44.
Meanwhile, Joel Barlow was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 39-34 to the Nighthawks. Joel Barlow has struggled against the Nighthawks recently, as their matchup on Monday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
New Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Joel Barlow, they dropped their record down to 5-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Everything went New Fairfield's way against the Falcons in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the Rebels made off with a 47-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Fairfield since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
