Calexico waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Holtville Vikings. Considering the Bulldogs have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jose Ortega was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.
