In what's become a running theme this season, the Mountain View Spartans gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 68-38 victory over Wilcox at home. Winning may never get old, but Mountain View sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Mountain View was led to victory by Alana Hernandez and Mikayla Kim. Hernandez scored 24 points along with three steals, while Kim dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 11 rebounds, and ten steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kim has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ellie Westgate, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mountain View's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Wilcox, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-15.
Mountain View will head out on the road to challenge Santa Clara at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Santa Clara is ranked 304th, while Mountain View is ranked 297th). As for Wilcox, they will be playing at home against Saratoga at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Saratoga has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
