Softball Recap: Montrose Wins Going Away Against Cedaredge + How To Watch

Montrose won the last time they faced Cedaredge and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Red Hawks blew past the Bruins 8-2. The Red Hawks might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Bentley Schiller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one walk any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Arianna Mora and Jaytli Cannizzo did most of the damage at the plate: Mora went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI, while Cannizzo went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Cannizzo a new career-high.

The victory made it two in a row for Montrose and bumps their season record up to 8-3. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Cedaredge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5.

Coming up, Montrose will head out on the road to take on Basalt at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Cedaredge, they will host Meeker at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
