Mifflin County has been on the road for four straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Palmyra Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Mifflin County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 448th, while Palmyra is ranked 124th).
Last Friday, Mifflin County came up short against Red Land and fell 45-38.
Meanwhile, Palmyra waltzed into their matchup on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They took down Hershey 51-34.
Palmyra found their leader in underclassman Addison Salus, who scored 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Salus has scored at least a third of Palmyra's points. Keely Bowers was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Mifflin County bumped their record down to 2-6 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.3 points per game. As for Palmyra, their win bumped their record up to 11-2.
