Basketball Recap: Tyliyah Miller's Big Game Can't Quite Lead James Logan over Washington

James Logan was the 54-44 winner over Washington when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The James Logan Colts took a 50-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington Huskies on Friday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

James Logan lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Tyliyah Miller, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 18 boards. Miller has been hot, having posted nine or more rebounds the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Iwalani Lealao, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 17 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, James Logan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive matches.

James Logan's record now sits at 11-7. As for Washington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. James Logan will take on Moreau Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Moreau Catholic has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Washington has already played their next contest (against Mission San Jose), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
