Basketball Recap: Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jashaun Baker and Hershell Reynolds

After flying high against Village Academy last Thursday, Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy came back down to earth. The Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy Gladiators came up short against the Somerset Academy - Canyons Cougars on Monday, falling 60-40. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gladiators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 70-57 back in November of 2024.

Despite the loss, Riviera Beach Preparatory and Achievement Academy had strong showings from Hershell Reynolds, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Jashaun Baker, who earned seven points in addition to 11 boards and four steals. Reynolds is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played dating back to last season. Brian Williams was another key player, putting up nine points and six rebounds.
