The Cameron County Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They were beaten by Ridgway 61-24. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Cameron County in their matchups with Ridgway: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite the defeat, Cameron County saw an underclassman step up: Elsie Bresslin scored 15 points along with six rebounds. That was a full 62.5% of Cameron County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Cameron County struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Cameron County bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for Ridgway, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cameron County will take on Galeton at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Galeton comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 20 points in their last 13 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Ridgway, they will play host again and welcome St. Marys, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
