Two dominant players in Natalie Melendez and Jay'la Ray are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Granada Hills Charter Highlanders and the George Washington Prep Generals will face off at 1:30 p.m. on January 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Granada Hills Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Saturday.
Granada Hills Charter waltzed into their game on Saturday with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Shalhevet.
Karma Paez and Brigita Bulotaite were among the main playmakers for Granada Hills Charter as the former scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals and the latter scored 13 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Bulotaite also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Katherine Artiga was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
George Washington Prep suffered their closest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They fell just short of Geffen Academy by a score of 51-49.
Granada Hills Charter's victory bumped their record up to 10-8. As for George Washington Prep, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
