When it comes to explaining why Pottsgrove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Leaman. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with three steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessica Carroll, who scored five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Pottsgrove's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-6. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.8 points per game. As for Pope John Paul II, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Pottsgrove will head out on the road to face off against Pottstown at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Pope John Paul II will be home for the holidays to greet Methacton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
