Little River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaren Garrison led the charge by rushing for 120 yards and one TD on only 12 carries, while also throwing for 26 yards and one touchdown. Jhet Ewertt was in the mix too, providing the Redskins with two scores.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Little River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 268 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 168 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, while Lyndon put up plenty of points on Thursday, the same can't be said for Northeast. The Tigers took their game with ease, bagging a 52-0 victory over the Vikings. 52 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Little River better keep an eye on Lucas Griffin. He was instrumental in Lyndon's win, rushing for 100 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while also throwing for 104 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 87.5% of his passes. Griffin showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 50 yards. Another rusher making a difference was James Marcotte, who rushed for 72 yards and two scores on only five carries.
Lyndon's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. Joe Biggs refused to say out of the backfield, picking up two sacks all by himself.
Little River's record is now 8-1. As for Lyndon, their record now sits at 8-0.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Little River has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 219.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Lyndon struggles in that department as they've been averaging 222.4 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
