With Harden now at Florida, it's time for
a new group of stars to step up and lead their teams on a quest for conference, state and perhaps even national glory. We have identified the candidates to fill that void in the Preseason MaxPreps All-America Team.
The
60 players recognized shined during competition a year ago or showed
enough promise to be mentioned alongside the game's best. Read on for a
complete look at the projected stars of the 2024 season.
First Team
Hitters
5-10 | Sophomore (Class of 2027) | UncommittedThe
MVP of the Class 5A tournament helped the 34-10 Leopards to their 10th
state title. She led the team with 424 kills in 128 sets while adding
564 serve receptions and 365 digs. Lovejoy starts near the top in
Texas and nationally as the Leopards look for No. 11.
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2024) | OregonHelped
the Royals go 30-4 with a semi-state finish. Bell dropped 409 kills on
the season along with 223 digs, 347 serve receptions and 258 blocks.
Bella Bullington, Marist (Chicago, Ill.)
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2025) | NorthwesternA
first team all-state nod, she helped the RedHawks to a 33-5 mark last
season in a crowded Illinois 4A field. She dropped 480 kills along with
281 digs, 75 blocks and 46 aces.
6-1 | Sophomore (Class of 2027) | UncommittedOne
of two freshmen on last year's MaxPreps All-America Team, she helped
the Patriots to a 3A title, No. 17 national finish and 31-2 mark. She
pounded 573 kills (6.3 per set) with 67 blocks.
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2025) | PittsburghPassed
the 1,000-career kill mark, dropping 472 kills as the Grizzlies went
50-1, won the Class 6A title and finished No. 2 in the MaxPreps Top 25.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | BYUAmong
the state leaders in kills, the future Cougar hammered 793 in 148
sets while hitting at 45 percent. The Panthers went 40-11, reaching the
Class 5A semifinals.
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Texas A&MDropped 459 kills in 102 sets as her team went 34-7 against a national schedule, finishing No. 24 in the MaxPreps Top 25.
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2026) | UncommittedFinished
2023 with a team-high 452 kills as the Mustangs advanced to the
Southern California Open Division regional semifinals. Flanagan looks to
be Mira Costa's No. 1 option as it navigates a powerhouse schedule in a
crowded and deep Southern California field.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedClosing
in on 2,000 career kills after posting 766 in 2023 while the Blue Raiders went
42-8 and captured the Division I Class AAA title.
6-4 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Penn State
Daughter of former NBA standout and college head coach Larry
Krystkowiak, the six-rotation player led the Falcons in kills with 484.
She added 589 serve receptions, 263 digs and 50 aces as Torrey Pines
went 24-7.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Mississippi State
On a team loaded with stars including the MaxPreps National Player of the Year, she dropped 358 kills for the two-time champion Royals. She helped HSE go 33-0 while adding 125 digs and 44 blocks.
5-11 | Junior (Class of 2026) | USCThe
MaxPreps National Sophomore of the Year helped the Monarchs win state and
national titles. She notched 347 kills in 111 sets, coming up big down
the stretch for a stacked Mater Dei lineup while adding 312 digs.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2025) | WisconsinHammered
557 kills this season as her team won its second straight Division 1
title while going 44-1 and finishing No. 6 nationally.
Ashlyn Seay, Byron Nelson (Trophy Club, Texas)
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2026) | RiceThe
Bobcats spent time in the MaxPreps Top 25 last season and their kills
leader was a big reason why. The first team All-State player pounded 488
kills (4.1 per set) while adding 270 digs, 289 serve receptions and 46
blocks.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2025) | NebraskaThe
future Husker dropped 30 kills in a five-set, state title win over
Millennium. She pounded 614 kills (5.2 per set) and added 358 digs as
the Huskies went 32-10.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2025) | TexasA
dominant force and legit six-rotation player, the daughter of former
NFL standout Marcus Spears helped the Lions to back-to-back TAPPS 6A
titles with 334 kills while hitting 37 percent. She added 26 aces and 37
blocks in 88 sets.
6-5 | Junior (Class of 2026) | Wisconsin
Led
the Redwings with 226 kills (3.2 per set) while hitting .364. She added
44 blocks as Benet went 39-5 and finished as 4A runner-up in 2023.
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2026) | UncommittedTallied 493 kills as her team went 50-1 and grabbed the Texas 6A title in the school's fifth year of existence.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | IndianaA
bacterial infection will keep her sidelined to start, but her
credentials are worthy of inclusion. She has been putting up insane kill
totals for three seasons and had 759 in 2023 as the Tigers went 27-6.
She has already passed the 1,500-kill milestone.
Setters
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Georgia
Tallied 975 assists, 282 digs, 54 blocks and 48 aces to help the Eagles
to a Class 5A title and 29-0 record. The daughter of former Major League
pitcher Scott Elarton was a MaxPreps Junior All-American and first team
all-state selection.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | NebraskaShe had a busy 2023 after playing for both the USA Volleyball U19 and U21
teams in the summer and then helping the Marlins to a Division 1 title.
She missed some time with Mercy but had 321 assists and took over in the
five-set state championship match.
5-7 | Junior (Class of 2025) | UncommittedThe
Rockets won their 23rd state title behind her steady offense as she tossed up 1,290 assists (11.7
per set). She had double-digit assists in all but one match as the
Rockets finished 37-5 and ranked No. 7 nationally.
5-10 | Sophomore (Class of 2027) | UncommittedThe other freshman on the MaxPreps All-America Team, she helped the Mighty
Macs to their 17th state championship with 737 assists. McAuley went
37-5, won the Class 4A state title and finished No. 10 nationally.
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2025) | UNLVHelped
the Warriors to a 34-7 record as the San Antonio club played a grueling national schedule. She had 596
assists, 222 digs and 21 aces in 104 sets.
Liberos
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2025) | USC
A
stabilizing back-row force for the Mustangs last season with 537 digs.
She is one of three Costa players to earn MaxPreps All-American
status last season.
5-7 | Junior (Class of 2025) | MarylandHelped
the Dons reach the Southern California Open Division final as a
stalwart on defense. She had 310 serve receptions, 260 digs and 20 aces
as her team went 34-5 and finished No. 11 nationally.
5-8 | Senior (Class of 2025) | IndianaWas
a wall in the back row as she tallied 447 digs, 91 assists and 21 aces
for the 39-3 Redwings, who reached the 4A title match for the second
straight year.
All-around
Henley Anderson, Dripping Springs (Texas)
6-2 | Junior (Class of 2026) | UncommittedThe
Tigers went 48-7 thanks in large part to her team-high 717 kills to go
along with 831 serve receptions, 395 digs, 60 aces and 51 blocks.
6-0 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Stanford
She tallied 444
kills, 361 assists, 228 digs and 81 aces in leading the Mustangs to the Class 6A
title game. She passed the 1,000-career kill mark as a junior.
Second Team
Hitters
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2025) | TCUA social media star with the game to back up the hype, she is a high-flier who hammered 766 kills, fifth-best in the Lone Star State last season. She added 778 serve receptions, 501 digs and 71 blocks as the Rattlers went 33-13 and reached the Class 6A regional quarterfinals.
The top-rated player in her class from the Golden State, she pounded 381 kills (3.8 per set) for the 18-14 Sharks. She passed 1,000 career kills late last season.
6-1 | Senior (Class of 2025) | CincinnatiThe two-time MaxPreps All-American helped the 44-8 Mustangs in kills (640) and digs (358) while adding 407 serve receptions and 76 aces.
6-3 | Sophomore (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted
A MaxPreps Freshman All-American, she led the Raiders with 481 kills,
adding 291 digs and 115 aces. She helped Jackson Academy win its fifth
straight MAIS title and looks to lead a younger squad in the quest for
six.
6-3 | Senior (Class of 2025) | MarylandClosing in on 1,000 career kills after 362 last year in which she helped the Greyhounds to a 39-4 record. She added 79 blocks.
604 | Senior (Class of 2024) | Stanford
She is back for the Sea Kings, who reached the CIF Division 1 finals last year, after taking her junior year off. As a sophomore, she helped Palos Verdes to the state final and spent time playing with USA Volleyball last year.
Led the Panthers with 366 kills (4.6 per set) as they grabbed the Class 7A title while posting a 25-3 mark. She added 230 serve receptions, 207 digs and 30 blocks and should pass 1,000 career kills this season.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Ohio State
The top-rated hitter in Michigan put up video-game numbers last season for the 33-14 Tigers. The small-school talent (Division 3) tallied 1,034 kills (9.1 per set) in 2023, backing up her 987 kills as a sophomore. She led the nation in kills by more than 100 in stats reported to MaxPreps.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Minnesota
The top-rated player in the state, she had 410 kills, 208 digs and 50 aces last season for the 24-7 Rebels.
The Class AAA Player of the Year
helped the 39-10 Patriots to a state title with 471 kills and 312 digs.
A two-sport standout, she was Deseret
News 5A Player of the Year with 589 kills, 336 digs and 44 blocks. She helped the
RedHawks go 23-8 with a Class 5A runner-up finish.
Abigail Mullen, Liberty

1,000 kills for her career last season with 394 for the 20-9 Blue

One of five non-seniors on the USA Volleyball U21 gold-medal winning
team this summer, she was the U19 tournament MVP in 2023. For the
Trojans in 2023, the Texas commit tallied 218 kills (4.6 per set) as
Timothy Christian went 28-7.
6-4 | Junior (Class of 2026) | UncommittedLed the Gaels with 605 kills in 107 sets while hitting at nearly 40 percent. The six-rotation player added 601 receptions, 373 digs and 52 blocks.
6-0 | Junior (Class of 2026) | UncommittedSecond on the Skyhawks with 395 kills as they won their ninth straight Class B title. West added 456 serve receptions and 272 digs.
Setters5-10 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Notre DameThe Monarchs reached the Open Division final and Baker served up 837 assists for the No. 8 team in the country. She also had 128 digs, 40 kills and 24 blocks.
5-9 | Sophomore (Class of 2027) | Uncommitted
Burst on the scene with 1,093 assists for the 33-4 Titans, who reached the Class B final.
6-2 | Senior (Class of 2025) | SMUThe 38-3 Raiders grabbed the AAAAAA title and No. 13 ranking as the future Mustang threw up 1,153 assists. She added 244 digs, 87 kills and 74 aces.
5-8 | Junior (Class of 2026) | Uncommitted
A three-time AAU national champion, she dished up 753 assists as the Mavericks went 25-8. Her sister Allie, now at Purdue, was also a MaxPreps All-American.
5-9 | Junior (Class of 2026) | Pitt
The Gaels went 34-5, winning the 5A title as she tossed up 1,132 assists (10.6 per set). She added 47 aces and 40 blocks.
Liberos5-8 | Sophomore (Class of 2026) | UncommittedThe Aztecs went 34-9 and reached the 6A semifinals behind their defensive leader. Clark had 545 digs, 69 assists and 49 aces.
5-4 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Uncommitted
The anchor of a Dominican squad that seeks its fifth straight state
title. She tallied 801 digs and 563 serve receptions last season as the
Division I champions went 44-2.
5-9 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Houston
A defensive wiz that coach Ryan Mitchell raves about, she had 343 digs last season for the TAPPS 6A champions. She enters the season coming off a U18 open national championship with Spears in club ball.
5-7 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Wisconsin
She helped the Rockets capture their 23rd state title,
posting 497 digs along with 428 serve receptions, 66 assists and 41 aces.
All-around
Bellamie Beus, Skyview (Nampa, Idaho)
5-10 | Junior (Class of 2026) | KentuckyThe Hawks won a fourth straight title as their next great hitter logged 533 kills. Skyview went 29-6 against a competitive schedule and didn't lose to an in-state opponent as Beus added 418 receptions and 253 digs.
Kaira Knox, Nolensville (Tenn.)
5-10 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Western KentuckyHelped
the 30-16 Knights back to the state title match before falling to
Cleveland. She pounded 516 kills in 135 sets. A monster season could see
her get to 2,000 as she enters the year with 1,248. She added 682 serve receptions, 326 digs, 87 blocks and 49 aces.
5-9 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Rice
A future Owl like teammate Seay, Peterson dropped 446 kills (3.9 per set) with 554 serve receptions, 480 digs and 57 blocks. Peterson, along with sophomore sister
Sophee Peterson, will be a leader for a team loaded with talent and looking for its second state title (2019).
5-7 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Kansas State
An outside hitter in high school, she will play libero in college but led the Titans in kills with 649
(6.2 per set) while adding 454 serve receptions and 274 digs. She enters
her senior season 265 kills shy of 2,000.
5-11 | Senior (Class of 2025) | Jacksonville State
A key piece of the Titans' run over the past few seasons (119-7 since 2021) she had 529 assists, 255 digs, 197 kills and a team-high 44 aces last year.
