The Mesa Verde Mavericks will challenge the Vacaville Christian Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mesa Verde has eight straight victories, Vacaville Christian has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Mesa Verde's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lindhurst with a sharp 17-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Mavericks, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Max Biondo and Isaiah Shoemake made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Biondo tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Shoemake struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). What's more, Biondo posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Biondo scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Shoemake went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Mesa Verde got a massive performance out of Aiden Marcheschi, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Connor Loew, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Mesa Verde always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lindhurst only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Vacaville Christian's offense. They lost 12-0 to Woodland Christian on Thursday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Falcons were not able to get on the board.
Mesa Verde's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Vacaville Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
Vacaville Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Mesa Verde hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343.
