There's no place like home for the Orthopaedic Vipers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-21 victory over Downtown Magnets on Friday. That's another feather in the cap for Orthopaedic, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Leading Orthopaedic to victory were Betzabeth Lopez and Kelsy Baez. Lopez scored nine points, while Baez scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Baez has scored all season.
Orthopaedic's win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Downtown Magnets, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-13.
Orthopaedic will be playing in front of their home fans against Aspire Ollin at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Aspire Ollin comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Downtown Magnets, they will head out on the road to face off against USC-MAE at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. USC-MAE's defense has only allowed 23.8 points per game this season, so Downtown Magnets' offense will have their work cut out for them.
