It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Cleveland had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They managed a 54-49 victory over the Spartans. Given Cleveland's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 343rd, while Huntington Park is ranked 869th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Valerie Anzora, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 20 rebounds. Anzora is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Izabella Maloumian was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five assists.
