The Minarets Mustangs lost against the Yosemite Badgers back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Minarets took a 37-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Yosemite. Minarets has not had much luck with Yosemite recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Jadyn Johnson was the offensive standout of the contest as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Yosemite's points. Another player making a difference was Taylor Bullock, who scored 11 points along with 5 rebounds.
Minarets' loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Yosemite, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Minarets will take on Laton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Laton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Saturday. As for Yosemite, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mariposa County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Mariposa County is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
