It was a good run, but the Lowell Red Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 42-29 to Chesterton. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Lowell in their matchups with Chesterton: they've now lost six in a row.
Lowell's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elysia Laub, who scored five points along with 11 rebounds and three steals, and Bre Kidd who scored eight points along with three steals. Those 11 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Kenedi Bradley continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chesterton, scoring 25 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Bradley has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Isabelle Connors, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Lowell's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Chesterton, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-4.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lowell will be home for the holidays to greet Rensselaer Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rensselaer Central focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. Chesterton will be home for the holidays to greet Kankakee Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
