The Bells Panthers won the last time they faced the Howe Bulldogs, and things went their way on Friday too. Bells blew past Howe 63-14 at home. The result was nothing new for Bells, who have now won four matchups by 27 points or more so far this season.
Easton Helgren continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 184 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries. Helgren's longest rush was for an incredible 89 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Hayden Allen, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries.
Bells' win was their sixth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 6-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-7 Pilot Point and 0-10 Lone Oak (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 30.5% over those games). As for Howe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bells will challenge Lone Oak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lone Oak will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 754th, while Bells is ranked 263rd). As for Howe, they will head out on the road to face off against Blue Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
