The Parkland Matadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by Hanks at home and fell 69-23. Parkland has not had much luck with Hanks recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Daisy Nunez was Parkland's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Rachael Silva held things down on the boards with four rebounds. She took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with five assists.
Parkland has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost ten of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season. As for Hanks, the victory was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-11.
Parkland will head out on the road to challenge Horizon at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Horizon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last five games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Hanks, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ysleta at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Ysleta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
