Pinole Valley came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Albany Cougars by a score of 5-2. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Cougars back in April, they had to take a 10-0 loss.

Ivan Rojo was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Rojo was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Pinole Valley is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 8-11 otherwise.

Rojo wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Charles Vargas, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Pinole Valley is undefeated when Vargas posts two or more runs, but 7-11 otherwise.

Pinole Valley now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Albany, their record now sits at 17-8.

As of now, neither Pinole Valley nor the Cougars have any future games scheduled.
