The Carson Colts will face off against the Van Nuys Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Carson had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They breezed by the Sheiks at home to the tune of 56-24. With Carson ahead 32-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Madison Wheeler was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Sydney Jackson, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine assists.
Meanwhile, Van Nuys entered their tilt with Maywood CES with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Van Nuys claimed a resounding 62-18 victory over Maywood CES at home. Van Nuys' win was all the more impressive since Maywood CES was averaging only 29.28 points allowed on the season.
Carson is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-11 record this season. As for Van Nuys, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
